Our Story

Cookie’s Country Chicken started in the galley of a workboat in the oil fields of South Louisiana. Founder and “Chief Steward” Brian Chandler spent ten years in the maritime industry working on various boats all over the world but found his calling cooking for large work crews in the down south. It was there he learned that fried chicken was the one meal that brought everyone together.

Over the course of the last few years Cookie’s Country Chicken has grown to become one of Seattle’s most popular fried chicken destinations. What started as a pop-up in the early days of the pandemic, evolved to permanent locations in both Ballard and Pioneer Square.

We believe that food should be affordable, our staff should love where they work, we strive to create livable wages as well as an inclusive work environment where everyone is welcome. A few of our motos we live and work by are “Whole Team Eats,” “Fried Chicken Every Way But Fancy” and “Fried Fresh to Order.” At the end of the day, we hope you loved your time with us and we cant wait to feed ya’.
